Forced wipe incoming, map changes & disable gametips!

With the forced wipe in sight and the game leaving Early Access some late night changes are coming into the game. No word yet if scientists will make it into the game, but the new water well monument is.




After tomorrows update we will notice more cliffs and hills on the map and the new mini monument is in-game. It will provide some loot and water. Also the rivers got a small makeover: no more filthy green mud, but clear blue water.

We also see something removed: pillars. We don’t believe anyone would regret that. Only one discussion is ongoing on the Rust reddit, but devs made a good comment: the upkeep cost is higher than a wall or door frame and it gives less stability. It may look not so tempting, but it’s more effective.

Then, after several requests, the junkyard now has its own recycler. An exact location is unknown yet, but we’ll see that one soon enough.

Improvements on AI and NPC scientists continues and they are getting smarter: better movement, they can now open doors and break barricades in their way. They are still of by default, but server admins can enable them. There’s no word if the NPC’s will make it in this week.

More tips have been added to the game. And luckily for most of us: they can be disabled in the client menu. Just open the game options menu (escape -> cogwheel) and set ‘Game Tips’ to ‘off’. Yes! 🙂

There’s also no word if we will see a forced blueprint wipe. If it’s not forced, we will wait another month or 2 for blueprints to wipe.
