We can sit! Oh and some other changes
Nice those chairs, but it didn’t do anything other than being roleplay furniture in the background. Now, Rust makes it you can sit. Oh, and some changes to player models, vending machines and auto turrets.
Player models
The player models will see some changes. We are not changing sexes yet, so you’re still the he or she you are now, but skin tone, head and body may have shifted a bit. Work is still to be done, so be on the lookout.
Vending machines
Right now, loot in vending machines will be thrown out when someone destroys the vending machine. Along with a slight increase to health, they no longer spew out items. The goal with this is to discourage people from destroying them just to get all the loot inside while providing proprietors more peace of mind.
Sit!
Helk has added the baseline system for sitting in chairs! To sit, simply go up to a chair and press ‘E’ when you see ‘Mount’. It looks like this functionality still needs some work as you can’t really get up once you’re sitting and half the time your player model ends up positioned in front of the chair. Expect some fixes for this shortly.
Auto Turrets
Yes! Auto turrets won’t shoot at you anymore once you leave the sight range of the turret. This makes ‘running away’ from the turret possible.
What else?
Well, we see some changes in the food balance. All raw meat (besides fish) now poisons you. Also, all burnt meat has been rebalanced to give 1/4 what cooked meat provides. We see new medical info panels and the sounds of the Bradley tank has changed a bit. Furthermore, spawning in game should be a lot quicker as the loading screen no longer waits for all skins to finish downloading by default. This can be changed, if you wish, by setting ‘skinwarmup 1’ in console.

– More item description changes
