Icebergs are back, new nodes and other improvements

The Rust devs made the icebergs come back in. They are buildable, so we’re curious what type of bases are going to be made. But watch out, being too long in the water can be freezing and teleports may not be working on icebergs.

Visual changes
The visual aspect of ore nodes has been changed. It didn’t make it in last week, but it did this week. Besides this, rock formations around the map have changed to a sharper and more detailed look. Also the Launch Site has had some good visual improvements overall.

Other changes

From this week, Windows 32-bit is no longer supported. This could be a show-stopper for the older installations of Windows but the devs needed to do this to go forward with the whole game. Devving a game and needing to take care of older installations can be a bit of a hassle.

For some of you noticing some steam achievements: indeed, they are coming in. A few basic ones are in-game right now. Also the official Steam stats will be coming in soon. And the placement of ore hotspots is improved.

Helk has also shifted where resources are found across the map when using quarries. He’s also increased the stone yield of static quarries by 4 times.

HQM is only found in the arctic
Sulfur is only found in arid
Metal is only found in temperate
Note: This does not shift the spawning of nodes, only resources gathered from quarries.

Helk is also testing out learnable recoil patters for the LR300 and MP5. In conjunction with this change, he’s reduced the aimcone on both weapons by 90%!

The update of today will bring a forced wipe and as always, this could break some big plugins. See you tonight.

As always, thanks to Rustafied for the images
