Tomorrows Rust update… what’s in it?
Well, to start off, personally i was waiting for this for a very long time. It might be small, but using a gun with 4X scope to see far distances will soon be over. Tomorrows Rust update will probably include new binoculars! The drawings for the item have been made, it’s all coding stuff now which is left. Hopefully done before tomorrow.
The update will also include some optimizations for furnaces. Furnaces spitting out bags and fragments all over the map creates more overhead than necessary. The developers are working to optimize the use and load of the furnaces. Optimizations on the client side will also be made and hopefully we’ll see better overall performance after this weeks update.
Further more
Last week, devs added a spinner which work as a clean board to chalk some stuff on like you do with signs. Place it on a wall, floor or any other entity and you can spin it around and around. Some bugs are fixed this week. Any arrows, spears or other items thrown at the spinner will now also move around.
The cost for netting has been reduced. You would need 5 ropes and 15 frags, but devs changed this to 4 ropes and 200 wood. No more metal in a wooden net. Haaaa!
One of the biggest changes and work being done is the overall AI. For some time now, players have been mad about animals running through walls or rocks. This is due to issues within the Unity engine. Unity and Rust devs fixed this in a new version. This very big issue has been fixed in the prerelease, but Rust devs are still waiting for the Unity version to become ‘stable’. This could be added in the next big update when the forced wipe is occurring next month.
Of course we’ll update you once we know more. Stay tuned!
